Probably the earliest source of anxiety for me regarding my penis was the fact that I am uncircumcised. I still feel that in Australia, among certain groups circumcision is a sensitive issue for many men.

Before I went to school I didn't worry about my penis. I have memories of bathing and swimming naked as a small child, with my sister, my cousins and friends, completely unselfconsciously. I spent a lot of time with my cousin Benjamin, and he was uncircumcised, like me. Interestingly both our fathers are circumcised. We were aware that we were a bit different from our Dads but at the time it didn't matter and we didn't give it a moments thought.

Going to school changed all that. I'm not sure when or how it came about but I decided that most of the boys my age at school were circumcised, like my Dad. This caused quite a bit of anguish as you can imagine. I started hiding my penis at school, in the toilets at the urinal, getting changed if I stayed over at a friends place or for swimming lessons etc.

Hindsight

Looking back now I'm appalled by my behaviour. Statistically speaking my perception of the situation at the time was completely wrong, as outlined in the following quote from Circumcision information, an Australian website aimed at educating parents about the risks of male circumcision.

"Australian paediatricians have discouraged the practice since the 1960s, and the incidence of circumcision has fallen from over 70% of boys during the 1960s to 49% in 1973 and 39% in 1980. In 2002 about 12% of boys were circumcised, but there is wide variation among the states."

Ironically I was born in 1974 so it's quite likely that significantly more than half of the boys in my year level were NOT circumcised after all ! If only I'd known that then.

Relationships

My first sexual relationship changed my thinking about my uncut penis forever. My girlfriend and I fell in love and our relationship was very intense, physically and emotionally. It was my first true relationship but her second and she wasn't a virgin. As it turned out, her previous boyfriend had been circumcised, but she was very impressed with my penis and only ever gave me compliments about it from the beginning.

She loved the fact that I was uncut and spent a great deal of time getting to know it intimately. We agreed that if we ever had children and any of them were boys they would definitely be left natural. This revelation was the beginning of me being truly happy with my penis.

After 5 years our relationship ended, for reasons unrelated to sex as our sex life was always fantastic. I saw several girls during this 'single' phase and never once had a complaint about my foreskin. On the contrary I got nothing but compliments. I learnt that my penis was actually above average size and girls generally were very appreciative of it.

My current long term partner had two boyfriends before me, both circumcised. She admits when she first saw my foreskin she was taken aback momentarily, but quickly decided she loved it and spent a good deal of time exploring it. Her older brother is also uncut so it wasn't new to her, just she had never experienced one first hand. She is now a huge foreskin fan and agrees wholeheartedly that if we ever have a son we wouldn't circumcise him.

I am completely happy to be uncut. My foreskin is an integral part of my penis and I simply can't imagine being without it. It feels fantastic to touch, covers my glans keeping it protected and soft, moves freely and naturally over the head of my penis facilitating masturbation and other sexual activities.

As far as foreskins go mine is apparently a fairly snug fitting specimen. I've had my penis mistaken for circumcised in the erect state with my foreskin rolled back neatly. In the flaccid condition you can usually see the end of the head of my penis 'peaking' out. During erection my foreskins natural tendency is to roll back behind the corona of my glans, the more erect I become the harder it is to keep forward.

I can pull my foreskin forward to cover my glans when erect which I often do when masturbating, particularly without lubrication. When masturbating with lubrication or if I am producing a lot of pre-cum I prefer to keep the glans exposed and touch it directly which gives a much more intense sensation than stimulating through the foreskin.
